Rustic style
Rustic interiors, inspired by the country style show warmth and homely ambience. Wood is being a predominant element. From originally old or artificially aged (cracks, scratches, irregular staining) to all kinds of wood panels, floorboards and exposed beams. The furniture of country origin has very simple shapes, a bit heavy and clumsy. These are often cupboards, extensive wardrobes and chests of drawers looking as if they were taken straight from the old manor houses. The rustic interiors are dominated by natural colors: shades of brown and beige combined with clear or creamy white. More vivid colors (blue, green, yellow, rarely red) appear only in accents. Folk ornaments often emphasize the homely character of the interior. These can be hangings, figurines of saints as well as old folk crockery and tools.
